Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 2026

1. Introduction

iClarus (“we”, “our”, or “the product”) provides tooltips, announcements, and onboarding tours for websites. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and disclose information when you use our website (iClarus.dev), the iClarus Chrome extension, and related services. By using our product, you agree to this policy.

2. Data We Collect

Website and dashboard

Chrome extension

Embedded script (SDK on your site)

When you embed our script on your website, it loads the published tooltip/announcement/onboarding configuration for your project by project ID. We do not collect personal data from your site’s visitors through this script. Any data about how you configure tooltips is covered under “Project data” above.

3. How We Use Your Data

4. Where Data Is Stored

Account and project data (including configuration) are stored on infrastructure provided by Supabase (supabase.com). Authentication is handled by Supabase Auth; when you sign in with Google, Google’s OAuth flow is used in accordance with Google’s policies. The Chrome extension also uses Chrome’s local storage on your device to keep project linkage and related data needed for the extension to function.

5. Third Parties

We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties for their marketing or other purposes.

6. Chrome Web Store - User Data and Limited Use

Our use of information received from Google APIs (if any) and our handling of user data in the iClarus Chrome extension adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use data only to provide and improve the single purpose of the extension: managing tooltips, announcements, and onboarding tours on websites you control. We do not use data for personalized advertising, and we do not transfer or sell user data to third parties for advertising or similar purposes.

7. Data Retention and Your Choices

We retain your account and project data for as long as your account exists or as needed to provide the service. You can delete your project data by removing projects in the dashboard. You can sign out and revoke access via your Google account settings. Uninstalling the Chrome extension will remove data stored locally by the extension; server-side project data remains until you or we delete it.

8. Security

We rely on Supabase and standard practices (HTTPS, authentication) to protect your data. The plugin authorization code gives access only to the project it is linked to; keep it confidential.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will be revised when we do. Continued use of the product after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
